Safer Night
Information that matters
No moralising, no panic. Just what actually helps during a night.
Consent
Consent is active, informed and revocable at any time. Silence is not a yes, being high is not a yes. When in doubt: ask.
Awareness
Many clubs have awareness teams. They are approachable, take the side of those affected and work confidentially. You can always talk to them – also on behalf of others.
Discrimination
Racism, queerphobia, sexism and ableism don't stop at the club door. Reporting incidents helps: clubs can ban people.
Safer use
Do not mix substances, start low, take breaks, drink water and eat. Never use alone. Use drug-checking services where available; they do not replace medical advice.
Mental health crises
Take panic, derealisation and comedown seriously: reduce stimuli, speak calmly and stay with the person. Call 112 if there is immediate danger; seek professional help if a crisis persists.
Drug counselling
Berlin's drug emergency service and addiction counselling centres offer confidential, anonymous and free advice. Current services are linked below.
Sexual health
Safer sex, regular testing and PrEP can help protect you. Aids-Hilfe organisations, checkpoints and public health offices offer reliable information and advice.
Support
Call 112 in an acute medical emergency. For mental health crises, TelefonSeelsorge is anonymous and available around the clock at 0800 111 0 111, 0800 111 0 222 or 116 123.
In an emergency
- Medical emergency: 112 – calling saves lives, drug use is not punished.
- Telefonseelsorge: 0800 111 0 111 / 0800 111 0 222 – free, anonymous, 24/7.
- In the club: talk to the awareness team, the bar or security.
